The month of March is not just about graduations and fire prevention. It is also recognizing the women's contributions to society and promoting gender equality, thus celebrating Women's Month. This was officially recognized by the United Nations in 1917, and continuously observed to date.
In line with this, a women's group in Pasig City, P.O.W.E.R. Caniogan, in cooperation with Capt. Len Ramos-Perez and Brgy. Capt. Bernard C. Perez, organized a month-long free Zumba Classes every weekend of March, 2014, held in the oval of the largest secondary school in the world (1993), Rizal High School. Since Zumba is one of the hottest craze in the fitness industry as I have observed, various women from all ages participated. Dance steps include aerobic elements with a mixture of samba, salsa, mambo, hiphop, lunges and squats.
The dance class was lead by a very energetic instructor, named "Patcho", who has an attitude the crowd really appreciated and enjoyed.
